About
![]() Engineers Week is an entire week devoted to celebrating the accomplishments of those who have shaped our world. It is a week to celebrate all aspects of what engineering truly is. Engineering entails far more than what can be captured in a textbook. Engineering is about working together to discover creative and practical solutions to real-world problems. It is about improving the lives of others. It is about making the impossible, probable. It is about standing on the edge of reality and deciding which visions will be brought to life. Engineering is about understanding the perfect balance of nature and using it to everyone's advantage. Engineers Week has been celebrated since 1951 when it was started by the National Society of Professional Engineers. This year, thousands of engineers, including students, teachers, and professionals will celebrate Engineers Week 2009 from February 13th to 21st.
